Where's the "-flat.vmdk" file?

This is driving me nuts and I'm sure it's something simple but I can't figure it out.. Everything I'm reading says there should be a FILENAME-flat.vmdk file stored with our vm's.

ESX3.5 update4/VCM 2.5/EMC iSCSI SAN

I've got a number of VM's running, but browsing the data store, I don't see any -flat files. What gives? I see all the other files I'm supposed to, but no -flat's.. Why might this be?

You will need to login to the Service Console to see them.

I don't understand, aren't all the VM files kept together by default?

When you browse the data store with VIC it seems to truncate the file name to FILENAME.vmdk but if you log into the service console as IllogicallyLogical states and you look at the files in the data store via command line you will see them look like FILENAME-flat.vmdk.

Roadkill is correct. They file name is truncated when viewed from VIC. As long as you have SSH enabled you should be able to putty in to server and browse to location or easier yet use "WinCSP" or "Veeam FastSCP".
