Where's SYS gone? Redirection table inconsistencies

Hi,
If anyone can provide any clues to a way out of this, I will be most grateful.

I'm having real trouble with our server. Basically, upon loading, the server displays the error message:

Redirection table inconsistencies on device NetWare Partition.

The server then cannot load any further. No volumes are loaded (including SYS).

I cannot use vrepair, as the server obviously cannot see the SYS volume.

Anyone else seen this before, or know a way out of this?

I did a quick search on the Novell website for this, and I think you may be in the "Brad Pitt" with this one. Basically, your NetWare partition is where all of your volumes are stored. It's basically like a logical volume or an extended DOS Partition (but obviously it is not).

If it is stuffed, you are in trouble. Is your NetWare partition across multiple disks? Do you use any form of RAID? You may have to restore your server from backup unless anyone else has any ideas? -----------------------------------------------------

thanks for that. No, we don't use RAID, so it's gonna have to be reinstall/restore...Thanks for the info.

Do you use BackupExec with the open file agent? If so it changes your SYS volume to something unreadable by NetWare then loads a device driver in the startup.ncf which allows it to be seen.
