I know that in mySQL database, the data is stored in the memory but in MSSQL server, where is the data stored ? Is it stored in the memory(RAM) or harddisk?

The database is stored on disk. However, SQL Server caches a lot of data in memmory for fast access. When updated it is written back to disk.

I've not worked with MySQL but it seems to me that it must also store data on disk. Otherwise the data would be lost upon a system reboot. Terry L. Broadbent
