I have downloaded and uncommpress a patch and now have file "2.6_recommended.tar". Where should I put the file before expanding it. Can I put it anywhere or is the /tmp the best place.

The Readme explains to install:

cd <patch cluster directory>
./install_cluster

Is the "<patch cluster directory>" a special directory or the original directory where the tar file was unzipped.

Sometimes the first step is the hardest.

Think twice, hit enter once.

Extract the tar file where ever you have room, this will create a directory with the patch cluster in it. cd into this directory and run install_cluster.
