Hello-

I have a vbscript that first off -deletes Office 2000 shortcuts and then "adds" new Office 2003 shortcuts. I'd like to place them in a GPO but am not sure where exactly to place them.

We have a Windows 2003 AD structure, users authenticate to the domain but here's one piece that may determine where these scripts should go. these users are using thin clients via Citrix Metaframe XP FR3 where they access all their applications thru "published desktops" on the Citrix servers.
Essentially they use their domain IDs to authenticate but so they have their Windows profile and a Citrix profile.. Just wondering if anyone here has experienced where to in this scenario is the right place to run the script from within a GPO...

I appreciate any support on this.

c:\windows\sysvol\domain\scripts
configured as a login script
User Configuration > Windows Settings > Scripts > Logon

also enable
Computer Settings > Administrative Templates > System > Group Policy :: User Group Policy Loopback Processing = ENABLED

apply this GPO to the OU that contains only the Citrix Servers!

Hope this Helps.

ncotton-

thanks for this information I truly appreciate it! I had one more question if you don't mind.

Office 2000 was part of a published desktop.. so I'm going to delete it and freshly install Office 2003 on my MetaFRame XP servers.. So my question is: After I install OFFICE 2003, what needs to be done in Citrix to ensure that it is part of the Published desktop? do I add it to the published desktop? did the icon ever really go away once I removed Office in the first place? should I just hit refresh and will it re appear?

thank you for any support on this

Best bet is probably to nip over to the citrix forum
