Hi, I am new to PHP and need a server for WinXP. Where is the best place and what version or any other details I need to get the apache server?

Any help is greatly appreciated

Charlie

Hi Charlie,

You can find all distributions at :
For Windows x86 platfrom, try :

Apache 1.3.27 (Must stable version) :

Apache 2.0.45 :

For Unix/Linux platform :

Furthermore, if you want install the Apache/MySQL/PHP server suite for Windows platform, you can try EasyPHP, this Package contains Apache 1.3.27/MySQL 3.23/PHP4 and it's very easy to use.
I try this version on XP configuration, that works !

URl Adress to get the must stable package of Easy PHP :

This is a french site, but you have an english EasyPHP version.

Have a nice Day.

Vincent.

Thanks VinZ, I am dowonloading now the easyphp. I am curious about something however; I have all the files individually and they amount to about 27megs for Apache 2.0.45, MySQL 3.23.56, and PHP4. The easy php has all three and it is only 10.3megs. How do they do that? All the other files are also zipped.
