What advice, based on experience, for someone wanting to get better performance and stability as to which OS I go to from Win 98. Is it Win 2000, Win Me , Win NT 4.0?
The PC is about 350Mhz with 128K RAM.

W2000 is by far the most stable & versatile, however you will want to insure there are drivers available for your hardware before installing. I would download any drivers in advance so you can point to them after you load your new operating system. Why not duel boot?

While I like a boot duel as well as the next guy <G> I think it better to determine what you're going to use it for before making such a recommendation. If you're primarily using it for e-mail, surfing, documents, that sort of thing, Windows2000 is definitely the way to go. If you're a game junkie, you'll either want Windows 98 SE, Windows ME, or a dual-boot situation with one of those AND Win2K (keeping the 98SE/ME install as useful only for playing games that won't work under 2000).
