Hi,

We are migrating from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007 and I am having some trouble finding corresponding settings in Exchange 2007:

In Exchange 2003 we have a group of users who are not allowed to send email to the internet.

this was acchieved in Exchange 2003 by configuring the SMTP Connector - Delivery Restrictions:

* By default, messages from everyone are: allowed
* Reject messages from: <groupname>

I can't find any setting in EMC (2007) that corresponds with these Ex2003 settings:

* Not on the receive connector of the hub servers,
* not on the send connectors on the HUB/Edge servers,
* I also tried transport rules, but they don't seem to be able to work with groups of users (only "inside" or "outside" the organization) Maybe with the shell, but I cannot seem to find the correct command.

Can anyone help me with this?

You can do it with Transport Rules.

Set two conditions:

- "From <people>"
- "Sent to users <Outside> the organization".

In the condition "From <people>" add the users that should not be allowed to send external mail.

In actions, choose to "Silently drop the message" or something similar.

If you want to track this stuff, you could choose "Redirect message".
