Hi everyone, I have use UNIX (Solaris, AIX, IRIX, Linux) for years but never for home use.

Now that I want to quick using Windowz at home,
could somebody recommend me where to find good software for linux, I'm most interested on image viewing/editing, and video viewing (mov, avi, mpeg)
any tip will help, I installed edonkey already but there is not much for linux in there. Any other ideas.

Thanks.

Image editing- GIMP (One of the best)
Movies- VLC (supports DivX too- my favourite player)

Have a look at the freshmeat website- there is stacks of software listing there. Just sign up (it's free) and you can search for software by popularity etc.
