where to find a step by step database Creation for Notes

I have been trying to find a web site with a step by step guide to creating a database in lotus notes. A database with a form that you can enter data into. The "help" in lotus tells how to create a database but does not say how to turn into something that someone can actual use...

I understand that a newbie can be a bit disoriented by the Designer and the process to build a database.
I must admit that I caught on rather quickly because I got a 3-day training course with a lot of pointers. It helps.
Thus, I am all for training where Notes development is concerned, but I realize that is not always an option.
