Hello,
I was hoping someone could help me find a list of valid image file types for Internet Explorer. I need to get a list of valid image extensions for a project that I'm working on. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

GIF, JPG.

IE displays BMP

I think PNG is somewhat universal.

If you have a viewer, you can view other files, such as AutoCAD dxf files if you have this whip-reader installed.

Out of curiosity, for what reason do you need a comprehensive list of supported image types?

Cheers,

Edward,
I need to modify a file upload program to check for valid image files because users have been sending up invalid files :) Thanks for the help fellas.

Oh, well then you have a golden opportunity. Just let 'em upload .gif and .jpg and if they try to upload anything else, throw 'em an error window that reads "This site only allows upload of GIF or JPG files."

Cheers,
