hello,
at avaya site I don't find phone manager pro software.
Any one can help?
I found new user.exe file (3.0.16 version), but I suppose it contains only the light version, doesn't it?
Are the light and pro different softwares at all, or a light phone mgr becomes a pro when you put a license key?
I have a temporary license I'd like to try... but
workflow of information by suppliers is a pain...
so if I can go ahead before the next incomplete step...
Thanks in advance guys.
Gianluca

you will need a license to be able to use Pro. It is on the user.exe file that you found (lite and pro are the same software). Once you install the license, change that users phone manager type to pro.

ok, done.
Thank you very much.
I have enabled a user and infact opening the phone manager now the "Pro" label appears!
I'm going to install TAPI now and see if integration with outlook works.
Bye,
Gianluca

Lets make one thing clear here:

You do not neet the TAPI driver to connect PM Pro with Outlook. PhoneManager Pro can access the addressbook of Outlook without the use of TAPI.

TAPI driver is only needed if you want to call your contacts within Outlook without the use of PM Pro.

Having both on your PC is a bit overdone but it is possible.

Thank you intrigrant, it's want I wanted to say but didn't dare having been flamed for stating this fact in a lesser forum last week.

ok, with phone mgr pro and tapi installed/configured I can:

1) select in outlook a contact and call him

2) when received a call, add the caller to Outlook contact

but I'm not able to:

3) when I receive a call from a contact I don't see any sign that the call is arriving from a contact; I see only the calling number. This should bee the advantage of Pro, if I'm correct....

Furthermore I'm not able to reset lite for my phone mgr.
If in manager I set to lite and then config fusion, phone manager starts every time in pro mode, so I could not verify yet that point 1) is possible without pro version of phone mgr.

Apart from 2) and 3), and the "campo lampade (in English perhaps lamp field"???) composed by more than 14 guys, what are the other main advantages of having pro version?
Thanks
Gianluca

If you download and look at the "Phone manager comparison" you'll see the listed differences between lite and pro. I would copy and paste them, but it's an excel spreadsheet so would be a little bit of a pain here.

Have a look at the product description for the pro lite differences

3) only works if you turn of screen pop for outlook in phone manager and remember to select external & ringing on the same tab

Pro extra's

Its own directory with pop up scripts and wav file play

Grouped speedials with new message indication

Screen pop for outlook, maximixer, goldmine & act

Agent mode for group selection, wrap up and busy na & recording buttons

In/Out call logs with ring time, duration and hold time

With voicemail pro - message listing and play controls

Account code tab with icons

With PM PRO IP enabled license - Softphone VoIP ability

With Voicemail pro and intuity - Voicemail distribution lists

2 x Queue monitoring with ability to answer calls from these queues

Instant Messaging integration with speedials

It seems 3) doesn't work for me...
User configured as Pro in manager;
In "screen visual mode" tab I have:

Telephone number: External checked (what is the menaing of
this: if you want to have pop up for both internal and external calls? nothing is specified using help)

telephone mode: ring checked (other option is answer... no help available, what is the difference? it seems nothing)

Outlook pop-up: checked

it seems that either combination used, when a call from contact arrives, I have the pop up of phone manager window, but I can only see the number of the caller, without the reference to the fact thsat he/she is an outlook contact and no outlook pop up windows appears...

version of phone manager is 3.0.14

Gianluca

Tick internal and external (pop on both internal and external calls)

Shut down both phone manager and outlook.

Open phone manager and it should open outlook (maybe in the background)

Ok thanks,
just to give final feedback.
With the flow delined above, the behaviour is correct.
The limit is that after opening phone mgr, you have to wait a call, and that raises outlook, and after that, if a call arrives, the outlook contact page raises up and I can see who is calling me.
To be sure that outlook contact pop up wins on phone mgr pop up, you have to uncheck, under "phone manager" tab in your preferences, the "Visualize phone manager" option.
The problem I verified is that if you open phone mgr, then open outlook and then a call arrives, you don't see outlook pop up: you nedd to activate outlook from phone mgr the first time, forcing a call form a contact... not very smart.
Another thing is that if you update a contact in a running session, for example adding a cell phone to a pre-existing contact, the configuration is not updated: you have to close outlook, close phone mgr and restart all again to gain the pop up if your contact calls you by his/her cell.....
Indeed the price list (about 130 euro) is not prohibitive, but I expected a cleaner product..
my configuration is: Windows XP SP2, outlook 2003, phone mgr pro 3.0.14, ip office 406 (3.0.59 release)
Just my opinion, YMMV.
