I have already tried all the usual places to buy software (ebay), online vendors, etc.
Anyway, my company has an awkward piece of internal software that used Crystal 8 reports. We need to support those reports, and re-write some. Upgrading those reports is not an option, nor is re-writing their code.
Our internal IT people have lost the .exe for the original crystal 8.... naturally
Crystal seem to have a policy to supply the current and two prior releases. SO that means CR 2008 plus CR 10 and XI.
You might be able to buy a current release of CR 2008 and install an older version as a stop gap measure. Check with them if that is okay.
Can be all sorts of good reasons to not upgrade, but in the end you will have to one day. We upgraded our desktops to Vista 64 bit and can no longer install our CR 8.5 on that version of windows. Now have to do our CR 8.5 development inside a VM running XP.
