Hi,

new to citrix (that will be obvious after reading the ?).

Remote users having response problem opening large Office files in central location (don't we all).

For Citrix to improve network flow, would the server not need to sit at the central location? Or should the Citrix server sit at the remote location (closer to the actual users?).

thanx,
clark

Better to have the Citrix box at the central location. That was the original idea of Citrix, as a way to speed up performance for remote users. All Citrix does is send key strokes and mouse clicks between the end user and Citrix box. All processing is done on the server. So, in your scenario, if you move the Citrix box to the remote location and have a file server back at the central location, now the Citrix Box has to communicate with the file server over the WAN. If you keep the Citrix box at the central location with the file server, now it just has to retrieve info from the file server over the LAN and just send the video back to the end user.

Thanx a bunch!
