Hi,

My question is about where is the configuration file for the setting of the host name in an email address.

We have two test AIX box and one box would send out the email with the following address:

userid@testbox1.dummy.com

while the other would send out:

userid@testbox2_boot1.dummy.com

As a newbie, I have not been able to find out where the host name part is defined. I am trying to change the testbox2_boot1.dummy.com to simply testbox2.dummy.com.

Thanks

Mike

/etc/sendmail.cf

Look for the Dw line, which is probably commented out by default. Play with it, but be extremely careful as the sendmail.cf file is full of black magic. You may need to restart the sendmail daemon after modifying this file.
