Hi,

IE9 saied my Temporary Internet files is in my Vista file windows \Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary InternetBut I cannot find \Temporary Internet\.

Perhaps I have moved it to other place? Now, how to find it?

Thanks a lot for any helps.

they are there... they are just hidden...

e.g. copy the path below, exchange <USER> with your login name, and paste it into an Explorer window:

C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5

How to ask a question, when posting them to a professional forum.
Only ask questions with yes/no answers if you want "yes" or "no"

What are you trying to do - look through them or remove them?

If you just want to remove them, use something like CCleaner. If you want to look at them, using the full path above will show you. You could also turn off hidden files temporarily.

Thank a lot.

I opened the path as BadBigBen posted but that is an empty folder. There must some files in it!

Perhaps I need to turn off hidden files as goombawaho suggested? Can you tell me how? It is Vista.

Thanks for BadBigBen's link!

I followed the steps and found the "Show hidden files and folders" has been checked in my Vista. Perhaps that is not for temporary folder?

The path given C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5

should definitely contain your Temporary Internet cache files.

You aren't using a different browser - are you?? Chrome, Firefox

Did you copy and paste that path into the Vista search bar?? Browsing to it is NOT the same in this case.

Also, did you remove the check from the "Hide Protected System Files" option under Folder Options as well as CHECKING the "Show hidden files and folders

There is an option you may have checked that clears Temporary Internet Files every time you close the IE browser. IE/ Tools/ Internet Options/ Advanced/ Settings/ Security.

Hi all experts,

Eventually, I got those files after removed the check from the "Hide Protected System Files" option as goombawaho reminded.
Very strange for me: those temporary files belong to system?

They don't want you to see what you've been up to on the internet. I have no idea why they are so hidden. You really can't hurt much if you whack them.

Never tried whacking the whole folder though. That MIGHT cause a problem. It has to have something to do with making things more idiot-proof
