I have just set up Apache 2 and it seems to work. BUT if I browse to " I get the index.html I've created. However if I browse to " I get the test page that says I'm seeing this because document root is not set correctly. What do I need to do to get this working? My computer is behind a Linksys router set to be in the DMZ and will serve the testpage to the outside as well.
HELP~~~~~[dazed]

Have you changed your document root in the config file? Have you placed the server address in the config file?

How can I tell which apache.conf file is running? The document root in the config file I edited says /usr/local/apache2/htdocs but the web page served up says /var/www.
What would be the server address? My domain name (xyz.com)or the IP of the box (it's in the DMZ behind a linksys router)

OK after moving some files around and setting several directives in httpd.conf I've got it working. I think it was a problem with apache 2.0.40 from the original redhat install and 2.0.45 that I installed from a tarball not being in the same directories and so when I ras apachectl it was looking at the wrong files. I'm sure I don't have all of the old apache off the machine but I just hope it won't come back to bite me.[lol]
Thanks for the help, I hope to be able to return the favor.
