Where do you advertise?

I was just interested in knowing how do independent contractors and telecom business owners promote their business. I've received many requests from sites such as phoneinstallers.com, phoneinstallers.net Home Advisor, etc. to advertise for a monthly fee but have been hesitant in investing without knowing whether it will result in increased leads. I usually promote using email marketing, snail mail and occasionally Craigslist. Returns have been spotty but requires a minimal investment. Interested in what's been effective for the business owners in this group.

I agree, online seems the way to go.
First thing people do is online research when they want anything, especially techie people like IT guys or CTO's
