Where do these files go when "KILL"ed ?

I am using the Access 2000 VBA command "Kill" to delete files from my hard drive which works great. The problem is that they don't next appear in the "Recycle Bin". I would like to know where these files went to and how to make them appear in the "Recycle Bin". I now have a situation where I need to retrieve these files.

Perhaps there is another similar, not so permanent method for deleting files ?
