Where do I get the oracle home directory from? I have a linux box and and VMS box, and am trying to use DBD perl. But, when I install it wants the oracle home directory. The oracle database is on another server. At minimum, I want the linux box to use the dbi,dbd database stuff to connect to an Oracle database on another server. How do I get the Oracle home stuff for the linux box so a programming language can access it. I do not want the whole oracle database/system on the box. Thanks for any direction.

To install DBI driver you have to install Pro*C, so must install Sql*Net and all that stuff called "Oracle client".
