where do i find my compressed mail

Outlook express asked me if i wanted to compress my email so i said yes.

All my email has disapeared.

How do i find it and/or how do i restore it?

OE asked if you wanted to 'compact' your mail folders. This action is supposed to remove wasted space, not remove your mail. Unfortunately, what you experienced is not uncommon. Try this... With OE closed, use the Windows Search function or Explorer, find and rename the following files:

inbox.dbx rename to oldinbox.dbx
folders.dbx rename to oldfolders.dbx

Then restart OE and see what happens.

but nothing was found

Include hidden & system files in your search. The folders are hidden under WinXP & Win2K.
