Hi, I know this sounds stupid but I exported data from sql-server 2008 (on windows svr 2008). I've never used the export tool before ever in any version, so I was in unfamiliar territory.
So it never, not once, prompted me where to put this file. It went through the steps and said "success'. And it even generated a fancy report which I looked at closley--and nowhere did it mention where it might have placed this file. I looked in the mydocs on the server, the root of C:, the folder where the .mdf files for the db are located, but nothing.
Does anyone know where Microsoft might hide this? It seems like an important thing and not a minor detail so it's suprising the tool would withold this information.
Thanks,
--Jim
