Also when i do int ? at the config prompt, I just dont have an option for serial :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-(

pre-thanks for your input

The only time I have seen this is when the card was bad.
Do you see any light on the card? You may also want to verify the IOS to see if its capatible. Good Luck!!! Jeter@LasVegas.com

Are you consoled in to the device or telnet. If you are using hyperterminal or other terminal program via serial, you may have an access issue. try telnet instead.

Does you I/O engine have a fast ether port on it? Do you know if it is a npe 300 or npe 400? Next If it does why isn't that listed as well? My experience has been that when the router doesn't recognize a port adapter it is due to an incorrect version of IOS. What version are you using. What happens when you type "sh int s1/0" or 1/1 1/2 1/3? Does it grab it then? Also looks like the part you have is a pa-mc-4t1. that is a 4port t1 card with built in csu/dsu that is diferent from a 4port serial card with part number pa-4t+ answer some of this is you can and i'd be glad to help i have 9 7206 vxr's in production right now.

Regards,
Writemem

I have to agree with the IOS level as a top possiblity .. I've seen it go both ways where a new IOS wont see an older card that USED to work and a new card because it's too old.

Go figure :(
