I booted my 6h1 running AIX 4.3.3 using the reboot command. When the system came back up, my graphics console is coming up with an aixterm window, not the usual CDE. I booted again with shutdown -Fr and the same thing happened. I'm at ML 9.

What could be causing this?

I had something like this happen to my machine (Not a 6H1) and someone recommended that I go to command line and ensure that the /tmp directory isn't full...? Maybe?

No, tmp is only 21% full. Here is another clue, though. In /tmp is a file named xlogfile. It contains these lines: Fatal Server error. Cannot establish any listening sockets -- Make sure an X server isn't already running.

I use this system as my X font server for my terminal emulation software. This file is being written to every minute -- the same message.
