I cannot find a copy of the mod_jk2.dll file anywhere, i can get mod_jk2.so - are they different? Can one be used in place of the other?

If they are different does anyone know where the dll can be found?

A DLL (Dynamic Link Library) is for Win32 machines.
A SO (Shared Object) is for Linux machines.

That would explain the problem.

Any ideas where the dll can be found? I've searched the tomcat downloads site but cannot find it.

How would I go about compiling my own version of the dll?

Are there any good howto guides you know of?

The numpties have named the file "mod_jk2.so" - but it is actually a DLL !!!!!
So just rename it from ".so" to ".DLL"

BTW, JK2 is in maintenance mode - no developement will be continued on it - development is back to focusing on JK.

ah yeah sorry. In the end I had to use the mod_jk and not mod_jk2. I've been trying to get Apache and Tomcat working for quite some time but never managed it before. This time I made the mod_jk.conf file manually and it seems to have worked.

It's still not 100% yet, but I'm learning as I go! I'm just trying to deploy the first web-app and also configure the document root (other thread).
