where can I go to download mpeg2 decoder. I believe this may be the reason why I can't open my mpeg2 movie. Actually I can open the original .mpg file located on my hard drive but when I burn it on CD it won't open.
But I doubt this will help much. Whatever decoder you're using to play the MPG on your harddrive is the same one you use when accessing your CD-drive. If the file is large (several MBs or 100MBs), it can take a while to cache it from the CD-drive. If your computer is low on memory or your CD-drive is slow, it may cause problems.
My suggestion: burn to CD, then copy file back to harddrive. Since your file originated on the harddrive, you won't gain much doing this, but it will confirm your burned copy is playable.
Yes, I agree. If the file works on your hard drive but not from the CD, it is most likely because the CDROM drive is not able to transfer data fast enough from the CD.
Have you ever been able to play MPEG-2 files from CD before in this system?
