Is there somewhere I can go to verify if someone has a microsoft certification?

Ask to see their MCP/MCSE ID card. It has their Certification # on it. Or ask to see thier Certificate. You can also try this #(800) 636-7544 I am not sure if they will give it to you. Is there a particular reason you want to check on someone? James Collins

The MCP card will show the level of their qualification like MCP or MCSE or whatever. The transcript is easy to change at printed level.

Give them Internet access and ask them to go get their transcript on screen from the MS site.

This only shows if they can pass exams which is not the same as being good in their job.

If the person is aware you are researching his/her background, goto have them log into the MCP Secure Site (If they havent done so previously, they'll have to create a login - which will require them having their MCP ID handy). You can then view their transcripts, detailing which exams they've passed.

If they are NOT aware of what you are doing, you may be limited by the level of exposure the individual wants. He/She may choose not to disclose their MCP status, feeling it's their privacy.
However, you could try searching the MCP database at Maybe they are registered and made it available to the public. Jon Hawkins
