I'm new to this Definity G3r V12 switch, and my only way of remote access is on this beat-up laptop (I'm sure will crash soon). If it does crash, then I have no way of accessing our switch (other than walking over to the next building).

It has version R1.8.03 dated 2001. Nobody here knows where the cd is, nor do they care because they're not the "phone guy" :)

Does anybody know where can I get the DSA or ASA remote software?

Any help/info is appreciated.

Unfortunately we cannot connect this laptop to our network. I work on a military base and any computer must meet a minimum security requirement, and this laptop does not. It was acquired specifically to remote into our switch, but now the laptop is getting old and unreliable.

I'm not really looking for an upgrade (but it doesn't hurt), I'm looking for at least the same version to install on a new pc.

How much does this program cost and where can I get it?

Maybe someone can loan me a copy so I can back it up for them :)

You can just use hyper terminal, you don't HAVE to have ASA if money is a problem.

I thought hyperterminal doesn't work?

Either way, I was hoping to be able to export info.

I don't know if money is a problem yet, because I don't know how much it cost or where to get it? I did a search on google and couldn't find anything.

I emailed my Avaya Federal Solutions rep but he hasn't got back to me.

So anybody have a copy to spare?

Some business partners will probably give you a free copy.

Others may charge for it. When I looked at it in the past, it was about $500 but that was a while ago.

Copy the directory that contains the ASA program onto a CD and then onto the new computer. Make sure to have a copy of the persist.dat file, or a write down all of the information you need to rebuild your system connections.

I was able to transfer the program to a new computer this way.
