where can i get SPROcc

Hi,

I'm new to Solairs, Previously been working on Linux systems.

It appears that the Version of Solaris 8 I've got installed does not have the SPROcc package, therefore I can't use the CC compiler.

Can anyone tell me where I can get this package. Is it on one of the solaris 8 software CD's, I've looked but cant find it.

It isn't provided as part of the OS. You can either purchase it, or go to

http://www.sunfreeware.com

and obtain gcc which in my experience works equally as well. HTH.

Thanks for the help, I've gownloaded a pre-compiled version of GCC, in the gunzip file i've got a file called gcc-2.95.3-sol8-sparc-local, whatdo i do with that, i@ve tried executing it and I just get a load of errors.

don't worry, just tried the pkgadd app and its installed it.
