I'm on Fedora Core 2, but '[tt]up2date --help[/tt] shows:
[tt]
-d, --download download packages only, even if configuration says to install
[/tt]
Try 'up2date -d'. I'm betting the rpms will be saved in /var/lib/rpm or close to it.
I took lgarner's advice and download the updates on ftp://updates.redhat.com/enterprise/3AS/en/os. I noticed that these rpm files have 'src' in the filenames. I updated my system with these rpm files, but when I do rpm -qa, I notice that the rpms are still on the old versions.
