I have just bought 3 sets of Norton's Internet Security and Anti-Virus for use on my 3 machines. I installed the first and ran the live update and 2 hours later I am up to date. The problem is that I would prefer not to have to go through this lengthy process with the two other PC's, and I am wondering if the updates that I've downloaded for the first PC can simply be located and transferred to the others.
Can this be done, and if so where are these updates located on my hard drive and is it simply a matter of pasting them into the other machines?

Afraid not, Xagte - both links are to Symantec and it does not appear to want to tell us where on the hard-drive the updates are sent to.

What I was suggesting was to download the files once, and any additional udates can be done off the same downloaded file. Just transfer them from one PC to the next.

Ok, but once the files have been downloaded, where are they located on the HD so they can be transferred to the next PC?

Assuming you have a Windows operating system, once you click on the link for the file it will prompt you to either run or save the file. Upon choosing to save it, you will then be prompted where you want to save it to. Where ever you decide to save the file to (Desktop, Floppy, CD...) is the place the are located on the HD so they can be transferred to the next PC. Good luck!

I'm running XP, and the updates are via Live Update so there is no manual downloading apart from clicking on the Live Update button. Once clicked, the download happens automatically, so I'm not given an option as to which folder to save to.

Go here to download it. Then follow the instructions I gave above.

Ok, thanks Xagqte, I've used the intelligent updater and saved to a CD. I guess we won't know where the files that I've downloaded earlier (via Live Update) have been sent on my hard drive, but this is the next best option.
