Where are my alarms?

It seems that the weekly & daily alarms stop working for several users. If I look at the $alarm folder within their mail file--am I right to assume that if there is an alarm set up, I should see this in that folder? I am trying to find all alarms that are set up for a user so that I can verify which alarms are and are not working.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
