Recently ran up against a customer with very very strict internet connection rules i.e no internet connectivity. Wondering what options besides the normal off line licensing there might be? The customer says they might be able to supply a proxy for us but I have never really used a proxy for internet connectivity. Wonder what others experience might be. Systems will be 3300 on an ISS a couple of gateways, a nupoint and a MAS. All running the latest software.

software installer tool, run through as normal, at the point the software wants to connect to the AMC to download license key, disconnect from PBX LAN, connect to another LAN with internet access, continue with software installer, once AMC has been contacted plug back in to PBX LAN and continue.

expanding on bobcheese, from MCD 6.0 I believe there is no longer a need to restart the controller when licensing through the SI Tool.

1 - Offline licensing as of release 6 is now very easy and convenient
2 - I've used Bobcheese's method at least once and it does work but it does create some stress
3 - Often I access the internet via my phone and bluetooth while using the SWI

Was aware of the offline method for an MCD so I am down with that. Wondering more for the applications I mentioned.

I've done it with my IPhone WiFi connection, and on the other side my NIC to the LAN. I works well... But yes I do use software installer as well
