Hello everyone,
I might have phrased the title incorrectly, but I need to get everyone's attention.

When will everyone's homes become a "space-age network"?

Such like a small network that hooks your computer to your sound system, TV stereo, and possible have some wireless speakers around the house.

Homes are to become like the voyager! We need technology!
Is it out there? Or am I only dreaming?

Apple has released Rendezvous, an interesting approch to self -configuring TCP/IP, from their Wizard without portfolio,
Here is apple fluff

Here is guts level docs

For what you want, self configuring devices will be WAY more pleasent, than wireless devices you need to configure. I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

Thanks for the tips. I asked for the world, and possibly achieved too much.
For example, how would security be monitored in this scenario? Through logon restrictions?
As usually, though, Apple is the innovator on the hardware side, but at least this time, they are trying to use industry open-standards, instead of creating their own! :)

Apple always leads, sometimes other follow, sometimes not, Apple chairs that committee, Mr. Chesire has been pondering this since 1997. I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.
