When viewing some websites that have a separate navigation section on the side of the page, the main page loads fine but the navigation section fails to load. To see what I mean, here are two sites that it happens on to me

any ideas why ?

What happens, does it just show the main frame, show a blank sidebar or an error message in the sidebar?

it shows a page can not be displayed error in the left hand pane

Try the Internet Explorer repair feature first. Go to Start>Settings>ControlPanel>Add/Remove Programs, scroll down until you see Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 & Internet Tools, click the Add/Remove button and select repair.

Or go to Start>Run, type msinfo32, click the Tools menu and select Internet Explorer Repair Tool.

If that doesn't help:
