When using selection tool I can only select objects but not move them.

I have InDesign CS2 on a Mac with OS X. When in InDesign I can select frames and objects with the selection tools and I can move them using my keyboard but not by dragging them with my mouse. As you can see this is a problem. Any suggestions would be very helpful.

Another issue that started occurring at the same time is the fact that I can not change the colors of my frames or backgrounds within the boxes. It will generally let me change once but that is all.

Try repairing permissions (Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility...Repair Permissions)...that usually fixes and funky little problems in InDesign. I always opt for that before trashing any preferences...but trashing prefs is a good last resort measure.
