when using contacts in outlook 2000 he gets kicked out altogether

Outlook will close when one of my staff member tries to send mail to a contact. He opens a new mail item and clicks on TO and then clicks the dropdown for SHOW NAMES FROM and chooses CONTACTS...at this point oultook freezes up for awhile(30 seconds) and then closes and gets an application error. His OS is XP but his office package is office 2000 STD. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, repaired and do not know what to do next.

I did notice that his roaming profile does not copy over from the server to his local station in full like the rest of us, would this be a problem?
