Hi all:
We are using Crystal Reports to help with development, ie to look at things in our data warehouse that have been loaded.

Today a new field was added to a big table we are already using in some reports. When I tried to add the field to the existing reports, I realized it is not visible anywhere. (I relinked databases etc.- but do not want to remove it- andbe forced to redo all the previous layout.)

I quickly created a new abbreviated report, and the field is readily available. Is there anyway to refresh the database and pick up the new field-- or do I need to redo the reports from scratch as we modify the databases in our warehouse?

(Perhaps reset location?)

Thanks.

When ANY database changes, not just oracle, click on Database-Verify database. Then your new fields will be available to your report.

If any existing field names change as well (not just the field attributes or data), and they are used in the report, a field-to-field mapping routine will kick in you will be asked to point the now orpahned field(s) to their "new" fields in the database. This actually works very well.
