I have created a word document with SWF files embedded.
Now when I save the document as PDF, the actice swf content is not retained.
The swf file consists of a screenshot, with content appearing when I hover the mouse cursor over a certain section, as well as hyperlinks to the internet.
In the pdf it doesn't work. I see only the screenshot.

Any idea why this is not working?

I found this site that explains steps for converting word to pdf with embedded links - there seems to be a step while saving the pdf where you need to change an optimze setting.

"Step 2
Click on the drop-down menu next to “Save As Type” and choose “PDF” from the list of file types. Next to “Optimize For,” select “Standard (Publishing Online and Printing” or “Minimum Size (Publishing Online).”"

The PDF exporter for Word doesn't support SWF like that, I'm afraid.

Not sure of a simple workaround beyond getting hold of Acrobat Pro and using that to insert the SWF into the PDF created by Word.
