When SAVCE10 client out of office

Hi there, all winxp clients installed with SAVCE10 pointing to a SAVCE10 parent server. When winxp clients within office, can received pattern file from parent server on a daily basis. However when the winxp clients (i.e. laptops) away from office, they cannot receive any pattern file from parent server as I didn't open up firewall for outside access on this topic.

Wondering if SAVCE10 client can be smart enough that if SAVCE10 parent server is available, get daily pattern file from parent server automatically; if SAVCE10 parent server not available, get daily pattern file from symantec website automatically. (the key point here is automatically)

P.S. other vendors like sophos can configured primary/secondary server to get pattern file
