How do you set the margins or font to allow all the notes to be printed in the report? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm using Version 6.0 . No the notes do not go onto the next page they just don't get printed. It's like the lines are not getting wrapped in the notes section therefore some is missing from the printout when printing a contact report.

This is the default report. I have checked the font size and everything looks fine. I have one computer that prints everything just fine but 3 others that print too big and off the page.

Ahhh.... ok, so it's machine specific.
Are they running the same report (from a shaded network folder)?
Are they using the same printer?
If same printer, are they using the same print driver (and version)?

It is machine specific, probably something in the local ACT settings per PC. I have printed to the same printer which is shared, therefore we are using the same print driver. I can print the same report from different workstations to the same printer and get different results.

Hmmm, this is annoying -
But I will usually find the cure when the support guys can't. There's obviously something different between the working machines and the failing one...

Are you all using the same database and trying to print the same contact (wanna eliminate a database corruption)?

Can you try and see if it happens from the demo database?

Does it happen when you preview the report then print from the preview?

Are you running the latest build (6.03)?

Maybe give this a try and see if it helps?

Does it happen with other standard reports - eg the Notes report?

BTW: Just because you're using a shared printer does not mean you're using the same driver... the report engine in ACT! uses BOTH the printer and video drivers when building reports. You might try going to the manufacturers site of both and downloading the newest drivers and see if either of them help.

Sorry to give so many things to try, but as the ACT! knowledge base at the top of this post says they don't know what causes it (which means they haven't been able to replicate it in their labs), I want to try logically looking at all the possible areas...

Actually, I just realised that first link, where they say it's unknown relates to ACT! 7/8, not ACT! 6... so we should be able to figure it out.

If it failes on the demo and with the new report from the 2nd link, then I think the video and/or print drivers might be the cause...

Another test to try would be to turn the video acceleration off and see if that helps.

Again, sorry to seggest so many tests that must appear a bit random... but I haven't seen this happen, so am logically try to limit the possible causes.

Hope one of these might give a result.
