A very strange thing is happening with my PC. When I boot the PC, an error message appear (about some missing file) and a message says that Win95 will load instead!!! The Win95 logo shows up during loading but then when I check in My Computer it says that I am running Win98. Has anyone seen that before? Also it won't let me run Windows Update in Setting. Any help will be appreciated.

PS: Last night I have installed HTTrack Website Copier, a software that allows you to copy entire website and to view them later offline.

Thanks
JC

Can you post the exact message and which file is missing?
Is there a file caled logo.sys in the root of C: drive (win95 uses this to display logo, 98 doesn't need it - but will use it if its there)

Is this installation a 95 upgrade to 98?

Hi wolluf, thanks for replying. I am currently at work so I am not able to check the error message but will do it tomorrow and post it. I know for a fact that it is not logo.sys but something else.
Thanks
JC
