when inserting a cd the computer keeps rebooting

When I insert a cd into my computer it keeps rebooting. I am using Win XP home addition. The cd-rom is only about a month old and was working fine, then started doing this strange thing.

Have you checked your event log? It could be a bad CD and its making your system unstable so its rebooting on system failure.

I second what 1101001100110101 said. If i put a bad cd in my win xp pro setup it will freeze up.
