When I open up SMS it says that It can't connect to the database. HELP

When I open up SMS it says that It can't connect to the database...I'm not sure why it won't, SQL can see the database, but SMS says that the "connection failed" Any suggestions?

check the SMS_siteSystemtoSQLConnection_XXX and make sure the site server name is in there

Try relaunching the connection (not just the admin console), I've had this a few times, no idea why.

Actions > All Tasks > Connect to Site Database

Also, make sure that your SQL instance hasn't been stopped or paused?

Have you tried the old reboot?

The server name is there, and I also have tried relaunching the connection multp. times. I also have rebooted a few times, just to see if it was still doing the same thing. I'm still stupmed!!!

can you post the exact error message your seeing?

Try launching wbemtest and connect to \\server\root\sms\site_sitecode where server is the server name and sitecode is the SMS site code. You might be having a WMI issue.

Are you attempting to connect remotely or locally?
