when I create a COM object as an ex

when I create a COM object as an exe it runs fine, but if I create it as a dll running fails. As I believe this is a problem because it take too much memory and when is a dll it runs in the memory of an other process. What can I do for dll to work?
To create objects I use ATL. The testing is in Access. John Fill
