Oyy- the frustration!

While making a booklet with PM 6.5 and distiller 5.0, on windows XP, some of the images in the pagemaker file move when I export to a PDF. I am having no problems with image quality--simply that they do not stay where I want them. I have locked the images individually, locked the layers, but what else can I do!

How did you get the images into PM and what format are they in?

If you copied and pasted, or used insert object, that might explain the roving images. ALWAYS USE FILE>PLACE and link, don't embed the images.

Read this:
Also PM 6.5 isn't supported in XP.

Positional shifts are common with metafiles in PS mode. Convert the images to EPS or AI with Adobe Illustrator.

Betsy,

Did you at any time try to use Word Art and paste it in PM?

I run into that problem all the time with yearbooks that I edit. Students like the fact that Word Art backgrounds are transparent when pasted into PM, but when the files are distilled, the Office Word Art which is not compatible with PM, either moves to another position on the layout or part if it disappears altogether!
