Hello,

I have PaintShop Pro X. In old versions, when I would choose Eraser tool and started erasing it would make the erased area the color I had selected in the background properties.

Now when I erase it makes the area transparent. In other words, it shows the checkerboard pattern. This makes it more difficult to see if I'm erasing the right area(s).

I'm sure there is a way to get it to make the erased area the color of my background but I can't figure it out.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

David

The checkerboard appears because you are working on a layer which sits on top of a transparent background...

You can change the checkerboard colors in the program's preferences OR you can add a new layer and fill it with another color and place it underneath the image that you are erasing OR you can merge all layers (flatten) and set the background color in the color swatches to a color you feel comfortable with.
