When editing, rest of word is selected

Hi - a strange thing just started happening to me. When I try to place my insertion point in the middle of a word, the rest of the word is selected, from that point to the right. I am editing a form and am unable to just add a few letters or a word in the middle of a phrase. I've always been able to, though; this 'rest of the word' highlighting just started.

I haven't changed anything in Tools --- Options. I can't find a 'select whole word' option that may have been selected, as in MS Word. I checked the Keyboard tab,and played around with the options there, but still the same.

Any thoughts?

Sometimes the shift-key gets stuck, this has happened to me. Banging on both shift keys has cured this recurring annoyance.
