I have a website in Sharepoint 2007 with about 5 different web parts on the home page. I have customized each of the "current views" on those 5 web parts to the way I want to see them. I also have about 10 links stored in a "links" list as well.

I then go "Save Site as a Template" with content. Now that the template is created, I then go to set up a new site using this template. When I create the new site, there are several problems that I notice:

1) I still have 10 links present but 5 of them are completed empty. That is, when you edit the properties of one of those blank links, there is no text listed in either the URL or description.

2) My customized views for my 5 web parts on my home page have all changed. You see I originally saved the site template showing fields A, B, and C in the "current view". Now after creating the new site from that template, those same views now show fields C, X, Y, and Z.

I know this is long but I can't find any info on this.
