I'll describe this as best as I can.

Person does a serach for a name and it opens a new window. In that new window they are supposed to be able to click on the name and it populates the field in the previous window. The problem is that nothing happens when clicking on the name. It doesn't populate the field in the previous window like it is supposed to.

I've check for spyware, ran win doctor, reinstalled IE 6, reinstalled Java, tried under a different profile with no luck. Any ideas?

Thanks!

If you're using JavaScript (and presumably window.opener) to achieve this, you'd be better off asking in the JavaScript forum.

You might want to post the code you're using, too.

Hope this helps,
Dan

I've seen this happen for 2 people now. This happens in internet explorer.

I'm really stuck on this. Any ideas please?

One more thing to add. When he tries to go to a forum and he hits reply it opens a new window that says "about:blank" instead of a place for him to type in his reply. I scanned for spyware, but it appears that he has none.

Is this a site under your control, that you are coding (and thus have access to modify the source)? If so, follow my earlier suggestion.

If not, maybe you could post a URL to this mysterious site, so others can see if it a general problem with the site or not.

I do not code the site, it is something on the intranet here.
It doesn't work on this person's computer, but if he tries it on other computers it works fine.

I can only suggest using a browser such as Firefox and seeing if any errors appear in the JavaScript console.
